Frequently Asked Questions
Is hospice equipment covered by insurance?
Equipment and supplies that are medically necessary and related to a patient’s terminal diagnosis are typically covered under the Medicare Hospice Benefit, as well as most Medicaid and private insurance hospice plans, at little to no out-of-pocket cost. Our team can walk you through your specific coverage during admission.
Who arranges delivery of equipment?
Our hospice care team assesses each patient’s needs and coordinates delivery directly, so families don’t have to source equipment on their own.
Do I need to return equipment after hospice care ends?
Most rented durable medical equipment, such as hospital beds and wheelchairs, is returned once it’s no longer needed. Consumable supplies, like wound care items and briefs, are not returned.
What if a patient’s needs change?
Hospice needs can shift over time. Our clinical team regularly reassesses each patient and adjusts equipment and supply orders as symptoms and care needs evolve.
